enterprise architecture alignment
Ensuring that the platform and solution architectures used are consistent with the principles and guidelines laid down in the enterprise architecture

category

platform

Designing, building and continuously improving the cloud platform (including landing zones, IAM, connectivity and integration) for the sole purpose of serving the business

capability

platform development

Providing for an effective and efficient cloud platform that is designed according to the guidelines and principles which is flexible with a high level of self service opportunities

Overview

“Platform and solution architectures must comply with the Enterprise architecture principles, guidelines and support the realisation of the cloud strategy”

Applying enterprise architecture principles, guidelines and policies in constructions, solutions, patterns, methods and processes creates a common foundation that is well understood and supported. Using new techniques, adopting cloud specific frameworks and DevOps methodologies triggers updating the enterprise architecture principles and guidelines as well. Creating a common ground supports and stimulates collaboration between all architecture disciplines, software development and operations.

All platform related architectures and design patterns (see platform design & build and reference architectures) implement defined principles, guidelines and policies. Enterprise architecture alignment governs the platform development capability and the operations and security capabilities. Translations are made to create standards, solutions, patterns, methods and processes. Application solution architecture and/or DevOps teams are offered support in using cloud native services, creating secure, responsive, available, restorable and cost-effective solutions.

Creating platform standards in alignment with enterprise architecture accelerates DevOps innovation and ensures the platform meets the security requirements and drives operational efficiency.
