Using cloud native services and deploying solutions and infrastructure as code changes the traditional siloed way of working towards an integration of solution development and operations.​

Creating or rearchitecting solutions by DevOps teams or suppliers using cloud native services requires guidance and support regarding:​

• cloud native design and automation;​
• making smart choices in the wide range of cloud native services;​
• the use of centralised and shared services;​
• the creation and re-use of service blueprints;​
• architectural principles, processes and guidelines;​
• the required qualities, such as performance, security and availability; ​
• providing insight into expected costs.​

This support to the teams should create uniformity, consolidation and supportability of used services. ​

For onboarding SaaS applications, the same guidance is necessary: support must be secured, integration with other systems must be guaranteed and one must prepare for an exit.
